A CAREER FOR DOG LOVERS

Today, work places like police departments and the army use dogs in their activities. Many homes and companies keep guard dogs for protection. Dogs also help people with special needs at home or in hospitals and schools. All these dogs get special training from professionals.(lines 1–6)
Kay Perro teaches people how to train dogs at the National School for Dog Trainers. Participants in her course live at the school for 16 weeks. "Different types of dogs behave differently," Kay explains. "We teach our students how to take care of them and how to train them for the different jobs they will have. When participants finish the course, we help them find jobs."(lines 7–12)
To participate, you must have a high school diploma and be over 18 years old. You also need a letter of recommendation from a teacher or employer. Although you don't need any experience with dogs, you must love them. You can register for the course on the school's website, www.nsdt.canine.com.(lines 13–15)
