THE GREAT ADVENTURES OF JASMINE HARRISON

Jasmine Harrison, a 24-year-old woman from England, is planning to do something very exciting next year. She will sail around the world alone in a very small yacht*. This journey will last almost a year. If she completes this journey, Jasmine will be the first woman to sail around the world in such a small yacht. However, this will not be her first adventure.(lines 1–9)
When Jasmine finished high school in 2019, she went to work on Antigua, an island near America. There she met some people who told her that they were planning to row* a boat across the Atlantic Ocean. Jasmine decided that she wanted to do this too, even though she did not know how to row a boat. So she went back home to England and began to prepare for this adventure.(lines 10–14)
Back in England, Jasmine learned how to row a boat. She also did lots of exercises to make herself stronger. Her family and friends gave her some money to help her buy a boat. Then she began to row her boat across the Atlantic Ocean – a distance of 6,000 kilometers.(lines 15–17)
Jasmine's journey was sometimes very difficult. On some days the winds were too strong, and she could not row her boat. But most of the time there were many things that made her happy. During the day, she saw many beautiful fish, and sometimes she swam with dolphins. At night, she looked at thousands of stars.(lines 18–21)
On her long journey, Jasmine ate mostly chocolate and missed eating hot food. However, she didn't miss people. She never felt alone because every day she spoke on the phone to her mother and friends. After 70 days, Jasmine completed her journey. She was only 21 years old, and she was the youngest woman to row a boat across the Atlantic Ocean. Now Jasmine is looking forward to her next adventure – sailing alone around the world.(lines 22–26)
